The Somali National Army has carried out a planned operation in an area called Eel Dhun Sewakow, which is about 45 km west of Baidoa, the capital of Bay Region.
The operation carried out by the army in this area killed more than 50 Somalis and foreigners who were among the leaders of the Khawarij.
During the operation, the army burned a car and a warehouse where the leaders and the militiamen were carrying weapons.
The Minister of Security of South West Somalia who spoke to Radio Mogadishu confirmed the existence of the attack on the Khawarij, he added that the area where the operation took place is between Bay and Bakool regions.
It was a day ago when a planned operation killed leaders and militias including Somalis and foreigners.
